Nominal metal value
Net weight × an observed benchmark for the selected purity. It is a theoretical estimate, not an offer.
Evidence before claims
Every material fact keeps its source and observation date. Missing, stale or failed evidence is shown as unavailable.
01
Net weight × an observed benchmark for the selected purity. It is a theoretical estimate, not an offer.
A figure or percentage publicly stated by a buyer, with its source, date, purity, unit, payment method, weight limits and fees. We normalize “percentage of spot” and “percentage of melt value” as percentage of gold content value only when the source applies weight and purity. Ranges and “up to” claims are shown but are not ranked as exact prices. We use 14K as the reference purity in the United States. A city average requires at least three equivalent policies observed within the last seven days. Each buyer counts once.
The final amount in a specific transaction. It is never inferred from nominal value or a promotion.
02
City pages show businesses categorized by the listing source as gold dealers or jewelry buyers. A category does not confirm registration, price, terms, quality or continued service availability.
A branch is one physical storefront. It is linked to a brand or operator only through exact identifiers or coherent evidence. Ambiguous names and noisy titles require human review and are never auto-merged.
03
Local order combines a Bayesian-adjusted third-party rating (55%), logarithmic review volume (30%) and up to 10% for publishing a current, reproducible purchase price or percentage. An exact price or fixed percentage receives more weight than a range or an “up to” figure. The advertised amount never changes the score. The remaining 5% is reserved for verified longevity. Missing data earns no points.
04
Prices expire automatically. Business facts retain dated observations; identity changes, closures and conflicts are reviewed before publication or withdrawal. A failed fact is not silently carried forward as current.
05
Buyer and pawn rules vary by state and municipality. OroRadar does not yet claim branch-level registration status. Texas and Florida use different regimes for crafted precious metal and secondhand-goods dealers; always verify the applicable authority.
